"My name is Lloyd Grahame and I deliver death notification training presentations to Emergency Services Personnel (police, fire, EMS), the Canadian Armed Forces, and Victim Support Services, on behalf of MADD Canada. In reading "Get Over It" Surviving Grief to Live Again what impressed me the most was the openness and honesty that came across on every page, this did not come from the head, this came from the heart. There were so many passages in this book that reinforce the message that I deliver in my presentations to emergency service personnel who do death notifications as part of their work.
I have my own personal experiences with grief as well and I have found that when I was newly bereaved there really didn’t seem to be any way to come to terms with my loss. In retrospect I know that the dark clouds of pain and loss can dissipate. This is clearly identified in the pages of the book and can give hope to those suffering from grief overload.
Thank you for writing your book. Thank you for sharing yourself. And finally thank you for the message about self care and the importance of putting “self” on the top of the priority list once in a while. This is a message that all in helping professions really need to take to heart and put into practice.
I wish you all the best in your efforts to make a difference."
